ZACH

Early photograph of Zach from 1942.

Zach was born in 1932 in Ciudad Juarez, the son of poor Mexican cobblers. Shortly after he was born, he was smuggled out of the country to New York as part of a vain attempt by the U.S. government to cover-up the recent kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. The press quickly saw through this facade, as even at 20 months old, Zach spoke beautiful, fluent Spanish, immediately marking him as either a foreigner or a damnable witch. He was cast off into the gutters of New York City to fend for himself which is where he was raised by the newsies in their lovable-but-tough traditions of creative profanity and musical theater. They taught Zach how to speak English, albeit only the New York newsboy dialect, which most experts argue is worse than not knowing the language. Zach lived as a newsie for many years until an unfortunate encounter with The Highlander and Hitler’s ghost in 1945 rendered him immortal. The haunted teenager, now destined to be 13-years-old for the rest of his life, fled the mean streets of New York, seeking the solitude of New Mexico. It was there that he lived in complete isolation in the northwest corner of New Mexico for many years as a hermit, trading only with the local Navajo tribes. It wasn’t until relatively recently that he noticed the town of Farmington had sprung up around him and that he ought to end his self-imposed exile to open a comic book shop.

PAT

Rumors of the existence of Patrick Hogan date all the way back to antiquity. When Brutus stabbed Ceaser, he was said to have been

Rare photograph of Patrick at the Battle of Thermopylae. His experience there would later be adapted into the hit graphic novel "The Watchmen"

there. When the rampaging hordes sacked Rome, accounts have Patrick there as well. So to at the battles of Hastings, Waterloo and he also was present for the deaths of Magellan, Joan of Arc, Tesla and other significant people. What strange historical forces conspire to manufacture this plump, unkempt man to be there at the exact point of the downfall of greatness? It is a point that has been debated for sometime, but most historians agree, his presence on the creative team behind the Fortress of Holding webcomic does not bode well for its future.
